What do I need to do in preparation?
Please consider the following before your sweep arrives:
- Do not light a fire the night before. Heat and glowing embers will prevent your sweep from carrying out his work but you will still be charged for the appointment.
- Please remove any prepared fire, ash and embers from the firebed. Ash is not collected and taken away as part of this service.
- Prepare a 2m x 2m space in front of the fireplace removing any secured fire guards. We don’t want you to injure yourself so if you need help moving heavy objects on the day, your sweep can assist.
- Provide parking on your drive or parking vouchers/permits where necessary.
